The Runkle Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a forum for the entire Runkle Community. If you're involved in Runkle School, either as parent/caregiver or staff member you are a member of the Runkle PTO. 

 

Our goal is to provide academic enrichment and support services to the children and staff at Runkle. We also foster community for Runkle families. 

 

To that end we have a funding vehicle -- The Annual Fund -- which collects direct and indirect donations throughout the academic year. In the fall, we hold a friendly fundraising contest among the grades at Runkle, and in the spring we organize an auction and an adult-only gala to raise funds. Throughout the year, some of our community activities are free to the general community and some have a small participation fee to cover costs. All of the income of the annual fund is yearly redistributed back into Runkle.

 

Every year in June we vote on the redistribution of the collected funds for the next academic year at our Budget Meeting. Participate to have your voice heard. 

 

The fundraising goal for the PTO is approximately $65000 a year or roughly $150 per student. 

 

Here are some of the programs we fund or support each year:

  • Back to school Teachers stipends
  • Library Fund
  • Author visits
  • Busses for Field trips
  • Performing Arts At Runkle (PAAR) external performing arts visitors for all K-8
  • Math and Science Enrichment for all K-8
  • Community Events, Back to school Picnic, Halloween Fair, Candy House Decorating, Skating under the Stars, Middle School Dance, Bingo Night, Math and Science Night, Spring Gala, International Night, Art Week, Book Fair and several more.
